Minister of Music Marcelino

Minister of Music Marcelino

Marcelino is our Minister of Music this Sunday! He says, “I recently went to a Chemical Brothers and had a total blast abandoning myself to dancing non-stop for the entirety of their show.  It was a seriously fun and furious bodywork and I loved every minute of it. I left the concert feeling ecstatic, refreshed, and invigorated.  It brought back memories of my days raving throughout SoCal.

For me, raving was an awakening because it gave me the experience of coming together in community to celebrate life through music, dance as a form of collective ritual/ceremony, and the electronic music always catalyzed peak experiences of spiritual liberation and my body received physical renewal.

When I play for ecstatic dance that is the experience that I seek to provide for the dancers through the journey I present. What I love about ecstatic dance is that it allows me to move through a vast spectrum of music genres all in one set.  I love witnessing dancers transport through many fantastic realms into physical and spiritual awakening. It’s kinda shamanic!

This Sunday I invite our community to surrender to the journey, allow the beats and rhythms of life to work their musical magic on our mind, body, and spirit because they have the power to move us from ordinary to liberation!
